A Landmark in the History of the Anti-Imperialist Struggle: Iran's 6 Mighty Achievements in the War Against Israel

Much more than technical prowess and tactical thinking was put the test in the Middle East; civilizations clashed. The results, for those of us who abhor racism and colonialism, are near miraculous

Israel took Iran to war 2 weeks ago. The US not only supported Israel in every way with intelligence and cover, but it also equipped and trained Israel for decades to take out Iran’s strategic capabilities.

The plan was to unleash a ‘shock and awe‘ campaign that would incapacitate the military and government, destabilize Iran, and prime it for regime change. Israel’s attempt made use of the absolute best a Western military can muster in terms of aircraft, intelligence, and communication platforms, infiltration and sabotage, and psychological warfare.

It was the culmination of decades of planning, weapons development, spy training, and intelligence gathering, costing in total hundreds of billions of US dollars. It was to be the blow that would bring Iran to its knees.

But Israel failed and had its entire strategic plan foiled and dismantled by Iran's unbelievable resilience, resourcefulness, and power on every level. At the end of the day, Israel not only fell short of achieving the stated goals of its operation, but it also sustained billions in damages, had its major cities and installations rocked heavily, and saw buildings collapse, strategic assets shattered, and Israelis become panicked and homeless.

Iran easily bypassed Israel’s mythologized missile defense systems, and even the participation of the US and half of NATO in trying to intercept Iran’s missiles proved grossly insufficient for the task.

Iran achieved a real-world, ominous deterrence against its archenemy without losing its footing and confidence for a second. That is an amazing feat.

The implications of this short war, though, far exceed the level of an Iranian-Israel confrontation. In my view, what Iran achieved has historic significance, and here are 6 reasons why.

Before I list Iran’s achievements, let me refresh your memory with one incident that is extremely telling as regards Israel’s reading of its environment. I am referring to the attempted extortion/intimidation phone calls Israel made to Iranian generals in the early hours of Israel’s attack. In those phone calls, Israeli intelligence operatives threatened Iranian officers that they faced two choices: either abandon their post and the regime and make a video announcing this, or they would be murdered along with their families.

This story, broken by the WSJ, reveals a great deal about the deeply racist and orientalist mindset os Israeli society and culture, of which the IDF is a major part. Put aside the disgusting mafia style; Israel’s most brilliant military mind, in the year 2025, genuinely believed that Iranian generals would flee in fear at the sound of the first explosion, and would betray their country over a phone call. Can you see how disgustingly racist and sick the Israeli collective consciousness is?
