The personal and the political are super entwined for me today.
In Yaffa, right in front of the apartment building where I used to live until two weeks ago, 8 people were shot dead and 9 more injured a couple of hours ago.
That's my street, where I park my bicycle, go to the corner store to buy groceries, take the light train, and go with my daughter places. There is no 'closer to home' than this.
Last year, a while after I came back from a few months outside (a mistake I'm not going to be making this time), an off-duty officer shot a Palestinian resident of Yaffa no less than 10 times maybe 150 meters from my house, and I had a bad, bad feeling.
I could not feel at ease for one second. Torm between the horrors of the genocide, the Israeli indifference, and the extreme unpopularity of my opinions, I could not wait for the day I left again.

And there's the heavy Iranian barrage - much more serious than in April, but still limited and announced in advance - that sent people across Israel to shelters, actually fearing for their lives this time.
Iran has proven, again, that it could hit Israel at ease virtually whenever it wants to. This is bound to send the Israeli system into a frenzy and hasten the quite certain large-scale Israeli-American attack on Iran.
It is the second time Iran has attacked Israel directly in 6 months. The Iranians are not afraid, and they create a new regional equation: Israel is not operating with complete impunity. Its actions have far-reaching consequences.
The US and the rest of the enslaved West preapproved Israel's mass murder of any number of people it pleases; Iran does not.

This attack has a sobering impact on our understanding of reality - which Usrael will hurry to obfuscate again, as they like us stupid and confused.
This is growing into a mighty big war, one which Israel cannot win. Nevertheless, it will pursue it, and its population will serve Netanyahu's sick vision with absolute conformity till the very last moment.

Some people still trust Netanyahu with their lives and the lives of their loved ones. I think they are idiots who will live to regret it.
What Hamas did on October 7 changed history forever. Nothing will be the same again, and it is 100% because of the limited and self-centered thinking Zionism has instilled in all its adherents.
I will tell people I care about what I have been saying this past year: get out while you still can. Netanyahu, this regime, this senior command, this culture - they are the end of Israel. Can’t you read the writing on the wall?
I remember the stories told to me about my grandparents in Germany... "we told them to get out when they still could...". Ironic how the future generation of these same people are facing similar decisions. Yet now they are committing the heinous crimes & still need to run away! I just root for every bomb coming their way to land as there's nothing better than getting a taste of your own medicine.
Everyday as I wake up with news of what evil deeds the Zionists have done, I think , “maybe today is the day the insanity ends, surely the world won’t let it go on”. I’ve woken up everyday for nearly a year being proven wrong, if anything, it’s gotten worse! I check on people I know who live in the region just to see if they’re ok. It’s maddening. I’m so glad that you had the sane mind to get out when you did, Alon. Your voice and testimony is needed more than ever. Stay safe🙏🏼
